Seven Seconds Down, for Meta Quest (Android package com.planky.planky).
Effective 2026-09-24. This policy replaces all earlier versions.

Summary

Summary. Seven Seconds Down does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash or telemetry reporting, and no network features of any kind. Everything the app saves is written to your own headset and never leaves it.

What data the app processes, and why

  • Your settings and progress. Audio volume levels, the comfort setting, which scenarios you have completed, your play statistics (rides taken, falls, best distance walked), the saved position of your calibrated board, the heights of your floor and your board as the headset measured them (with a short technical note of how and when each was measured), and a counter for how many rides you have played so first ride hints stop appearing. This is written to the app's own private storage on the headset, so the game remembers your setup between sessions. It contains no name, no account identifier, and nothing that identifies you as a person. It is never transmitted anywhere.
  • One spatial anchor. So the virtual plank stays lined up with your real board between sessions, the app saves a single spatial anchor using the Meta Quest platform's spatial anchor feature. The anchor is a position in your headset's own map of your space. It is stored on the device by the headset's operating system, under Meta's handling of that feature, and is not uploaded, copied, or read by us.
  • Your room scan and depth sensing (spatial data). With your permission (the headset asks you to allow spatial data), the app uses two headset features to line the game up with your real room. In the Your Room ride it reads the room scan made in the headset's Space Setup and uses only the outline and height of the floor of the room you are standing in, so the drop opens exactly to your floor's edges; if you choose Scan my room, the app asks the headset to open its own Space Setup. While you trace your board, and at the start of a ride, it asks the headset's depth sensing where a line from your controller, hand, or view meets a surface, and gets back that single point, never a camera or depth image. These points are used while you play and then discarded; only the resulting floor and board heights are saved, as described above. Room scans are made and kept by the headset's operating system under Meta's handling of that feature, and the app does not change, copy, upload, or share them. If you decline the permission the game still works: the board is traced against a flat floor estimate and the Your Room ride uses a standard floor size.
  • Passthrough video. When you set up or check your board, for the whole of the Your Room ride, and whenever the "Show the room" control is used to let you see your surroundings, the app displays the headset's passthrough camera view. Camera images are composited by the headset itself. The app never receives, records, analyses, or transmits the passthrough image, and does not have access to it as data.
  • Hand and controller tracking. While you play, the headset's operating system supplies the position of your head, hands, and controllers so the game can draw them and react to them. These positions are used for the current frame and then discarded. They are never written to storage and never transmitted.
  • Ownership check. On launch, the app asks the Meta Quest platform whether the signed in account owns Seven Seconds Down, which the Meta Horizon Store requires. This request is handled by the Meta platform under Meta's own privacy policy. The app receives only a yes or no answer, and keeps no record of it.

What the app does not do

No data is used for advertising, profiling, training any model, or any purpose other than running the game on your headset. No data is sold or shared with any third party. The app has no servers and makes no network requests of its own.

Permissions

The app asks for these Meta Quest permissions, each only for the purpose described above:

  • Spatial anchors (com.oculus.permission.USE_ANCHOR_API): to keep the plank lined up with your board between sessions.
  • Spatial data (com.oculus.permission.USE_SCENE): to read your room scan and use depth sensing. The headset asks you before it is granted, and you can turn it off at any time in the headset's settings.
  • Hand tracking (com.oculus.permission.HAND_TRACKING): so you can play with your hands instead of controllers.
  • Internet (android.permission.INTERNET): added automatically by the game engine the app is built with. The app itself makes no network requests.

It does not request microphone, camera image access, location, contacts, or external storage permissions.

How to delete your data

Because nothing is sent off your headset, you are always in full control of everything the app has saved. There is never a fee for any of this.

  • In the app. Open Options from the main menu and choose Reset progress and board. This erases your statistics, your scenario progress, and your saved board (its position and measured height), including the spatial anchor. Your floor's measured height is kept, since it only lines the game up with your floor; uninstalling removes it.
  • Room scans. Your room scan belongs to the headset, not to the app. You can redo or delete it in the headset's settings, under Physical space.
  • Uninstall. Uninstalling Seven Seconds Down from your headset deletes the app's private storage and everything in it.
  • By email. Write to support@sevensecondsdown.com and we will confirm what is held for you, which is nothing on our side, and talk you through removing anything saved on your device. We answer every such request within 30 days.

There are no deletion requests we are unable to fulfil, because we hold no copy of anything to begin with.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, including children. There is no data collection to differ by age.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Seven Seconds Down ever changes how data is handled, this page will be updated with a new effective date, and the store listing will link to the updated page before that version is released.
